Themastercouldseethegreatspidersuponhim,andothersupontheground。

Clatter,clatter,thud,thud——themanwiththesilverbridlerode,heedlessofhisdirection,withhisfearfulfacelookingupnowright,nowleft,andhisswordarmreadytoslash。Andafewhundredyardsaheadofhim,withatailoftorncobwebtrailingbehindhim,rodethelittlemanonthewhitehorse,stillbutimperfectlyinthesaddle。

Thereedsbentbeforethem,thewindblewfreshandstrong,overhisshoulderthemastercouldseethewebshurryingtoovertake……

Hewassointenttoescapethespiders’websthatonlyashishorsegatheredtogetherforaleapdidherealisetheravineahead。AndthenhereaIiseditonlytomisunderstandandinterfere。Hewasleaningforwardonhishorse’sneckandsatupandbackalltoolate。
