Presentlyweleftmyroadforthedeepshadeofanarrowcountrywaywherethegreatoaksandbeechesmeetoverheadandnohedge-

clippersetshishandtostaynature"sprofusion;andsobypleasantlanesscarcethewaggon"swidthacross,nowshady,nowsunny,hereborderedbythicksetcoverts,theregivingonfruitfulfields,wecameatlengthtothemill。

IleftJemtohisbusinesswiththemillerandwandereddowntheflowerymeadowtolistentothemerryclackofthestreamandthevoiceofthewatersontheweir。Thegreatwheelwasatrest,asI
