TheinterviewleftSherlockHolmesverythoughtful,andseveraltimesinthenextfewdaysIsawhimtakehisslipofpaperfromhisnote—bookandlooklongandearnestlyatthecuriousfiguresinscribeduponit。Hemadenoallusiontotheaffair,however,untiloneafternoonafortnightorsolater。Iwasgoingoutwhenhecalledmeback。
