Thegrapefruiteverybodyate。Thecoldlambtoo,metwithaheartyreception,especiallyafterthepotatoes,corn,andtomatoeswereserved——

andtasted。Outwardly,throughitall,Billywasgayetyitself。Inwardlyshewasburningupwithangerandmortification。Andbecauseshewasallthis,therewas,apparently,nolimittoherlaughterandsparklingreparteeasshetalkedwithCalderwell,herguest——theguestwho,accordingtoheroriginalplans,wastobeshownhowhappysheandBertramwere,whatagoodwifeshemade,andhowdevotedand_satisfied_Bertramwasinhishome。
