Itwasduringthesummerfollowingmyuncle"sdeaththatIwenttothewharvestoseetotheunloadingofashipthatcameinfromVenice,bearingmanygoodsfromtheEastonmyaccount,suchasivory,silks,spices,glass,carpets,andIknownotwhat。Havingfinishedmybusinessandseenthesepreciousthingswarehoused,Ihandedoverthecheckingofalistofthemtoanotherandturnedtoseekmyhorse。

WhentheyhadgoneIturnedtolookatthestranger,whosehoodhadfallenbackinthehustling,andsawthathewasaboutthirtyyearsofage,andofadarkandnoblecountenance,beardless,butwithstraightblackhair,blackflashingeyes,andanaquilinenose。AnotherthingI
